Description
Gowron Kaltrax is a gold dragonborn. A giant, even among his own race. He
rises above 7 feet. His most prominent characteristic is his booming deep voice
that commands respect and inspires loyalty.
He is a captain in King Kendricks army, where he is a father figure to most
of his subordinates. Always calm, kind and ready to tell a tale from his
military achievements relevant to almost every situation. At nightfall he I often
seen in the field hospital cheering up the wounded or around the campfires with
the soldiers, sharing a drink and a laugh and always smoking his pipe filling
the air with a sweet, aromatic and pungent smell.
But Gowron is also a strict father and leader. Coming from a warrior clan
in Tymanther, that was governed by a complex set of principles, from which there
was no sidestepping, and no mercy if you did, he obeys the military law to the letter, even if the law causes misery. Even the smallest of misdeeds, such as
sleeping on your watch, can cause the harshest of punishments, when Gowron is
your commander. He is the only commander in King Kendricks army, that has
punished companies by decimating them (killing every tenth man) for lacking discipline.
Defending his actions Gowrhon will say, “First
they lack discipline then they start talking about desertion and when that
happens mutiny follows shortly after. It´s better to kill a few, then loose the
whole army to a small infection in the discipline.”
It´s probably this fatherly harsh rule that has earned Gowron the
reputation of being one of the best in captains in Kendricks army, because
every soldiers knows, that their leader at all times has a demanding eye on them
and their welfare. In other words, it´s consider a great honor to serve under
the Dragon Captain, cause then you are one of the best, or at least expected to
be.
Asked how he came to be a captain in Kendricks army he´ll reply, “After I served as a lance defender in the
army of my people, The Vanquisher wanted me to keep an eye on the evils of the
world around our nation. So that is what I do, at all times where ever I ‘am.
Does it matter how, why and when I got this position. I got it because I ‘am
whiling to fight and die for those who cannot fight for themeselves, are you?”
